Layaways

We are happy to offer a layaway service to secure dolls or bears upon a minimum of 50% non-refundable deposit of the total cost including postage if applicable.

The remainder of the balance can be paid in installments to suit you providing the entire balance is paid by completion date eight weeks after reservation.

Your item will not be reserved until deposit is received and will not be posted until it has been paid for in full.

In the event of a customer layaway default, payments received to date excluding the deposit will be refunded and the item will be put back up for sale.

Please note.. layaways are non transferable, deposits are non refundable and returns/ exchanges are not permitted on layaways.

The dolly fairy doll’s hospital

Dolls are sent for repair work to the dolly fairy at your own risk so please ensure she is well packed in a box adequate enough for the size she’ll be once re-strung. This is especially important as antique, ceramics, internal parts and many other breakables are not covered for compensation by most UK couriers.

Payment is due upon completion of work. Your doll will be returned to you via free economy post within the UK which usually takes 3-5 working days or it’s an extra £6.00 to upgrade to the express/tracked service.

If possible remove the doll’s garments/accessories prior to sending. The dolly fairy cannot be held responsible for any loss/damage to items sent with the doll.

Dolls are mailed here from all over the world but you’re welcome to make an appointment (via text/email, Facebook or Whatsapp) to drop off your doll if you prefer (sorry the dolly fairy is currently unavailable to take phone calls due to large volumes).

Delivery of your order

Free economy postage applies to all orders and repair work delivered to U.K. addresses. Buyers are welcome to upgrade to express/tracked services for an additional £6.00. Your purchase will be well packed for transit which is especially important as  antique, ceramics, internal parts and many other breakables are not covered for compensation by most UK couriers.

Overseas buyers are welcome to purchase their order via the website to secure their item. An invoice for postage costs to your destination will then be sent to you.

Orders are usually dispatched within one working day of payment if paid via bank transfer (preferred) or paypal. Cheques are also welcome but do incur a clearance time of up to 7 days before your order can be despatched. Cheques must be in GB Pounds and made out to Miss D. Curbishley.

Returns

Goods can be returned for exchange or credit within 14 days (excluding layaways) providing they arrive back to us in the exact condition as they were originally sent.
Returned items will be credited within 14 working days excluding postage costs incurred by Diane’s Dolls & Bears even if items were originally sent to you as a postage free promotion.
Goods are returned at the sender’s risk and expense, please ensure you use tracked postage services for your own peace of mind using the original packaging.
In all cases please give notice of your return and reasons prior to sending.
Returns and exchanges are not accepted on layaways and deposits are non-refundable.

Storage

We can only offer storage facilities up to 14 days following the date of your purchase so we ask that customers provide their delivery address ASAP after payment. In the event of the 14 day period being exceeded storage costs will be charged at £1 per item, per day. In the event of any purchases remaining unclaimed at the expiration of 3 months from the date of purchase or once the storage charges become greater than the sale price of the item/s whichever comes first, the item/s shall be re-offered by public or private sale. Diane’s Dolls & Bears shall deduct the costs of storage from the re-sale proceeds and any other expenses of such re-sale. The balance (if any) shall then be paid to the purchaser of the unclaimed item/s. Should the re-sale price be insufficient to cover the storage and re-sale expenses the original purchaser is still responsible to pay this.

Buy with confidence

All items for sale on the Diane’s Dolls and Bears website are sold as seen, described and photographed.

Hard plastic dolls are extensively checked for HPD and related odours.

Damage and excess wear or repair work will be clearly pointed out in the description and will be photographed accordingly.

Please do bear in mind.. the dolls and bears for sale on this website are antique/vintage toys and were once played with by a child and in some cases several generations of children. They were not originally bought as showpieces or for ornamental use. Signs of love, age and wear are part of their history and are to be expected.

Antique and Vintage Dolls and Bears

Please note the dolls and bears sold on the Diane’s Dolls and Bears website are antique and vintage toys of their era and are sold by Diane’s Dolls & Bears as collectable items not toys. They are unsuitable for children to play with.
