Buy with confidence

All items for sale on the Diane’s Dolls and Bears website are sold as seen, described and photographed. Hard plastic dolls are extensively checked for HPD and related odours. Damage and excess wear or repair work will be clearly pointed out in the description and will be photographed accordingly.

Please do bear in mind.. the dolls and bears for sale on this website are antique/vintage toys and were once played with by a child and in some cases several generations of children. They were not originally bought as showpieces or for ornamental use. Signs of love, age and wear are part of their history and are to be expected.

Purchases 

Free economy postage applies to all orders and repair work delivered to U.K. addresses. UK Buyers are welcome to upgrade to express/tracked services for an additional £6.00. Your purchase will be well packed for transit which is especially important as  antique, ceramics, internal parts and many other breakables are not covered for compensation by most UK couriers.

Overseas buyers are welcome to purchase their order via the website to secure their item. An invoice for postage costs to your destination will then be sent to you via Paypal.

Orders are usually dispatched within one working day of payment if paid via bank transfer (fastest) or paypal. Cheques are also welcome but do incur a clearance time of up to 7 days before your order can be despatched. Cheques must be in GB Pounds and made out to Miss D. Curbishley.

The dolly fairy doll’s hospital

Dolls are sent for repair work to the dolly fairy at your own risk so please ensure she is well packed in a box adequate enough for the size she’ll be once re-strung. This is especially important as antique, ceramics, internal parts and many other breakables are not covered for compensation by most UK couriers.

Payment is due upon completion of work unless the work exceeds £100 in total in which case a deposit of up to 50% may be required before work can commence (this will be confirmed in your quotation). Upon completion of work and payment in full, your doll will then be returned to you via free economy post (within the UK) which usually takes 3-5 working days or it’s an extra £6.00 to upgrade to the express/tracked service. Next day Special Delivery can also be arranged at an additional charge. Please also see Storage for repairs section below.

If possible remove the doll’s garments/accessories prior to sending. The dolly fairy cannot be held responsible for any loss/damage to items sent with the doll.

Dolls are mailed here from all over the world but you’re welcome to make an appointment (via text/email, Facebook or Whatsapp) to drop off your doll if you prefer but due to high demand drop off appointments are only available Saturday mornings.

The dolly fairy is currently unavailable to take phone calls due to large volumes of work

Visits are strictly by appointment only on doorstep drop off/pick up basis

Storage for purchases 

Please note that we cannot store your items for more than 14 days after receiving your payment. To avoid any storage fees, please provide your full delivery address as soon as possible, preferably when making your purchase. We will not ship the items until all outstanding payments, including any storage fees, are paid in full. Your items will remain the property of dianesdollsbears.com until full payment, including any accumulated storage fees, is received. We will regularly remind you to provide the delivery address and include a link to the storage fees to avoid additional charges. If we still haven’t received the delivery address after 28 days, your purchase option will be canceled, and we will refund your payment minus the storage fees. The items will remain the property of dianesdollsbears.com and will be offered for resale.

Storage for repairs

Please note that we are not a storage facility and we do not have the capacity to hold any item(s) that have been commissioned for repair for longer than 14 calendar days after you have been notified by either email, text, WhatsApp or telephone that the repair is complete and full payment is now required. With this in mind, we ask that customers provide their full return delivery address ASAP and your repaired item(s) will be despatched once payment has been received in full. In the event of the 14 calendar day period being exceeded then an additional storage surcharge of £2.50 per item per day will be required before your item(s) will be despatched. You will be issued regular reminders that your repair has not been paid for and a link to the storage fees will be attached for your immediate attention and to avoid you further charges. If payment (including any storage surcharge) has not been paid in full after 90 calendar days then the item(s) shall become the property of dianesdollsbears.com and may be offered for resale either publicly or privately to cover the expenses and storage costs accrued during the repair work that you originally commissioned and was accepted in good faith by dianesdollsbears.com.

A note on safety

Please note the dolls and bears sold on the Diane’s Dolls and Bears website are antique and vintage toys of their era and are sold by Diane’s Dolls & Bears as collectable items not toys. They are unsuitable for children to play with. This also applies to hand customised BJD and Blythe dolls offered for sale on this website.

Returns

Full priced goods can be returned for exchange or credit within 14 days (excluding layaways) providing they arrive back to us in the exact condition as they were originally sent. Returned items will be credited within 14 working days excluding postage costs incurred by Diane’s Dolls & Bears even if items were originally sent to you as a postage free promotion. Goods are returned at the sender’s risk and expense, please ensure you use tracked postage services for your own peace of mind using the original packaging. In all cases please give notice of your return and reasons prior to sending. Returns and exchanges are not accepted on layaways and deposits are non-refundable.
